Top Ten Karaoke Songs for Memorial Day Weekend

Splashdown

Summer is finally here! It is time for cookouts, picnics, pool days and trips to the beach. This list of songs will kick off your summer and holiday weekend right.

Here’s our Top Ten Karaoke Songs for Memorial Day Weekend:

Kid Rock – “All Summer Long”

A killer tune that samples two of our all-time favorites (“Sweet Home Alabama” and “Werewolves Of London”). Just add barbecue sauce.

Rascal Flatts – “Summer Nights”

If you saw the on-stage presentation during the Flatts Fest tour, you know what a crowd-pleaser this was. “We went crazy cooped up all winter long…” Yep.

Kenny Chesney – “Out Last Night”

A karaoke song that sings about karaoke songs. “There were two karaoke girls drunk on a dare, singin’ ‘I Got You Babe’ by Sonny and Cher…” Classic.

Alan Jackson – “Chattahoochee”

“Down by the river on a Friday night, a pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight.” Since I grew up a stone’s throw from the banks, it’s not hard to identify with this one.

Lynyrd Skynyrd – “Sweet Home Alabama”

Yeah, we mentioned this one above, but that doesn’t make it less appropriate. A summer song for all time.

Cyndi Lauper – “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”

A paen to party girls everywhere, and a karaoke classic.

Eddie Cochran – “Summertime Blues”

Sometimes I wonder what I’m a-gonna do. And sometimes I don’t.

Dierks Bentley – “What Was I Thinkin'”

C’mon Dierks. We all know exactly what you were thinkin’.

Little Big Town – “Boondocks”

My favorite of a long line of Little Big Town tunes. Maybe because Billy Joe Royal’s “Down In The Boondocks” is the first song I can remember learning from the radio. I’ve always been a sucker for close high harmony, and the sing-along at the end could go on for ten more minutes in a perfect world.

Phil Vassar – “Six Pack Summer”

Who’s never been a dashboard drummer? If you ain’t guilty, turn in your rock-n-roller membership card right now.
