Christina Aguilera has never been ashamed to show off what her mamma gave her, but in a recent photo shoot for an online magazine the glamorous pop-star took a no-shame, no-clothes approach to flaunting the natural beauty of pregnancy.

Though it’s been done before (then again after that, and again after that), the 33-year-old buxom blonde took to the buff to bravely bare her baby bump (say that five times fast) as part of a shoot for VMagazine.com. Aguilera is no stranger to the stresses that pregnancy places on the female body as this will be her second child, and she has no qualms about displaying it for all to see.

“As a woman, I’m proud to embrace my body through all stages of life,” she said in the accompanying article, “staying fearless and confident in surrendering to the unknowns the future has in store.”

The four-time Grammy winner joins an elite list of fellow famous mommies who have also bared it all for photo shoots while expecting. In 1999, a very pregnant Cindy Crawford graced the cover of W magazine. Following her were Britney Spears (2006, Harper’s Bazaar), and Jessica Simpson in 2012 (Elle). They all, however, follow in the footsteps of actress Demi Moore’s famous 1991 Vanity Fair cover, which raised eyebrows 23 years ago this month.

Happy Independence Day From Karaoke Cloud!

As we Americans prepare for a 3-day weekend of grilling hamburgers, drinking beer, and participating in admittedly poorly thought out experiments involving fireworks and other explosives (many of which will undoubtedly end up on Youtube), we here at Karaoke Cloud/DigiTrax Entertainment want to take the time to wish you, our faithful readers, a very happy Independence Day!

And here to kick off the festivities, we “proudly” present stupid people doing what stupid people do best. You’re welcome! 🙂

WARNING: Language NSFW

On a more serious note, we very much hope that you will take time out this weekend to remember exactly what it is we’re celebrating. We live in a country which has many faults. Several of our leaders, whom we voted into power, have done significant damage to our civil liberties, our education system continues to decline as our children rank lower and lower among other nations in math, science, and literacy, and more Americans can name the cast members of Duck Dynasty than can name their own congressman. We have a lot of problems which need fixing, yet to this day we remain free. And that freedom not only comes with a price, it comes with a responsibility; a responsibility which all Americans must bear. That responsibility is to never take our freedom for granted, lest we lose it entirely!

“Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed — else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.” ~Dwight D. Eisenhower

Shanghaied In Shanghai! Chinese police bust karaoke criminals

Excitement, adventure, and the overall desire to experience “something different” are common traits associated with tourists who find their way into the big city. Unfortunately, they are also perfect avenues for criminals to exploit no matter what city you’re in.

According to an article on businessinsider.com, fifteen members of a karaoke-based crime gang have been arrested by Shanghai police for luring tourists into “karaoke honey traps.” This musical maffia has allegedly been enticing “witless foreigners” into underground karaoke dens and then extorting them for thousands of pounds for the services provided… whatever those may be.

The Shanghai Daily newspaper reported that unsuspecting tourists were lead into these hidden bars where they were promised an evening in the presence of beautiful women while singing their favorite karaoke tunes. The experience apparently came at a high and unsuspected price, however, as patrons would be approached by “large men” and coerced into paying thousands of pounds before being allowed to leave.

Police eventually rounded up the gang after one lucky gentleman managed to escape from a car in which gang members were holding him and “ran to a nearby police car,” where he told his tale of karaoke kidnapping.

If you plan to travel to Shanghai anytime in the near future, keep your wits about you. The cops may have put an end to one of these groups, but who knows how many other crooner cronies are out there?

Come to think of it, maybe it’s just safer to stay home in general. Karaoke Cloud and Sing-N-Share let you do just that. With thousands of your favorite karaoke hits and new ones being added every week, we’re you’re one-stop shopping place for everything karaoke… and you don’t even have to leave the house!

Dad’s Secret: Happy Father’s Day from Karaoke Cloud

fathers-day-wallpapers-pictures

Mother’s Day is easy. We all love our mom’s and it’s usually not that difficult to let it show. Mom gave birth to us. Mom loves us unconditionally and doesn’t even attempt to hide it. Mom is easy to buy gifts for because to her “it’s the thought that counts.” Above all else, Mom is easy to please on Mother’s Day; just spend time with her.

Father’s Day, however, can seem like a completely different concept. Dad was often the stern one, responsible for discipline when we screwed up. Of course Dad loves us, but he doesn’t tend to let it show as much as Mom. Dad can be picky when it comes to gifts; “Another (crappy) tie? Awesome… thanks.” Yes, it can be difficult to get a read on dear old Dad at times.

But guess what; I’ve got a secret to share with you. It’s not my secret, actually, but Dad’s. Every Dad’s. A secret that can make Father’s Day just as simple and straight forward as Mother’s Day. Want to know what it is?

It’s one of those secrets that when you hear it you’ll kick yourself for not realizing it earlier because it’s so simple. It’s a secret that Dad himself wants to tell you, but just can’t bring himself to do it. Are you sure you want to know? Okay, here it is…

Dad wants on Father’s Day exactly what Mom wants on Mother’s Day; you. Just you. He wants your time. He wants your attention. He wants a hug. He wants to sit and watch a ball game or a movie… with you. He wants to grill hamburgers and hotdogs… for you. He wants to sit quietly and drink a beer… with you.

You see, dads aren’t that different from moms after all. They want to spend time with their children, the children they were so stern with because they wanted them to grow up right and be successful and happy. It isn’t about the goofy cards or the crappy ties (though, seriously, there are other items out there that would suffice as gifts, people). It’s about you. It always has been. It always will be.

This Father’s Day take the time to let your dad know that he’s still a part of your life. If you live too far away to visit don’t just send a card or an email, but call or Skype him. If you’re a father yourself, spend the day with your children. Above all else, never be afraid to let your kids know how much you love them and that you want to be with them on Father’s Day, even if it means another crappy tie.

Keep It Down! UK man’s love for Celine Dion too much for neighbors

Loud music may damage your hearing... and piss off your neighbors!

Loud music may damage your hearing… and piss off your neighbors!

I love my music and I love it loud! Five Finger Death Punch, Metallica, Godsmack; there isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t crank it up in my apartment, and yes, I’m sure my neighbors love me for it. Thankfully I’ve not yet received any noise complaints (that I know of). Gareth Davies did, however, and apparently didn’t give a damn. That is until law enforcement confiscated all of his music and audio equipment!

Davies, a 47-year-old UK resident, had a nasty habit of driving his neighbors crazy by cranking up his beloved Celine Dion. According to azcentral.com, Mr. Davies repeatedly blasted “My Heart Will Go On” day and night in spite of a noise-abatement notice received from officials. After a whopping six repeated violations, the authorities had finally had enough. Police reportedly seized his entire music collection along with all of his audio equipment, including his Playstation 3, speakers, and television! All because of his love for the Canadian princess of pop.

To be fair, it wasn’t all Celine’s fault. Mr. Davies apparently had a thing for James Brown, too, as he was known to treat his neighbors to repeated performances from the Godfather of Soul and, strangely enough, the theme song from Toy Story. Whatever floats your boat… or ticks off your neighbors.

While the confiscation of all his music (and apparently his entire entertainment center) may seem a bit extreme, authorities have made it clear that Mr. Davies will have the ability to apply for the return of all his equipment in a month’s time. I’m not sure which would be worse, a month without music or a month without video games.

Biceps, Triceps… Ear Drums? Combating hearing loss with exercise.

Exercise leads to better hearing

Exercise leads to better hearing

By now we all know the physical benefits of exercise; weight loss, increased energy, physical strength, stamina, heart health, etc. We also know that exercise elevates our mood and makes us feel good, although it doesn’t always seem that way while we’re doing it. But did you know that regular exercise can decrease the likelihood of hearing loss?

According to Dr. Kathy Landau Goodman, audiologist and chairperson of the Audiology Awareness Campaign, exercise and proper nutrition are important in maintaining good hearing. In an article published by the Milwaukee, Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, Dr. Landau Goodman stated, “Just as a healthy body is fostered through proper nutrition, regular exercise, adequate rest and good hygienic practices, so is the ability to hear well.”

Some of the healthy practices that can help reduce the risk of hearing loss include maintaining a healthy weight, 20-30 minutes of sustained aerobic exercise five days per week, eating five servings of fruits/vegetables per day, eliminating smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke, and reducing the loudness of music and other noise (obvious).

Another way to combat hearing loss is learning to play a musical instrument. According to the same article, “…people who regularly play musical instruments maintain their ability to better process and understand the sounds they hear in daily communication.”

Hearing loss is a major concern to music lovers and musicians. Whether you like to sing karaoke, play guitar, or just sit in a comfortable chair and listen to your favorite album, your quality of hearing can greatly affect your performance and/or level of enjoyment. So take care of yourself. Be good to your body and your body, including your ears, will be good to you.
