Professional athletes and charity events have gone hand-in-hand for years. Some charitable events are cake-walks with the athletes having to do little more than show up, shake some hands, say a few kind words, then enjoy whatever festivities follow. While this is still admirable, it’s those who are willing to go that little extra mile that really draw attention, especially when that extra mile might include the possibility of personal embarrassment. 🙂
In this regard, St. Louis Cardinals pitchers Adam Wainwright and Trevor Rosenthal pitched a perfect game at a recent charity event to benefit a local children’s hospital. The twin flamethrowers joined forces to perform a karaoke duet of “Love Is An Open Door” from the hit animated Disney film Frozen.
Though their performance conjures up more images of Abbott and Costello than Diana Ross and Lionel Richie, their willingness to “leave it all on the field” for charity is awesome. Gentlemen, we here at Karaoke Cloud salute you!
