The American dream has changed quite a bit over the last few decades. The house, white picket-fence, a dog, and 2.1 kids is no longer the driving force behind the aspirations of many American citizens. Still, we glom on to any stories in the tabloids or online having to do with our favorite celebrities’ personal lives, especially when it deals with their families. Why? Because family will always be an important aspect of American culture.

Country music icon Dolly Parton has opened up about her personal views on family and why she decided not to start one of her own during her legendary five-decade career.

“I grew up in a big old family with eight kids younger than me and several of my brothers and sisters came to live with me early on in my life,” Dolly told People Magazine. “I’ve loved their kids just like they’re my grandkids, and now I’ve got great-grand-kids!”

Dolly has always been upfront about her love for family, so why hasn’t she had kids of her own?  According to her, it just wasn’t meant to be. “I often think, it just wasn’t meant for me to have kids so everybody’s kids can be mine.”

Though she’s never had children of her own, the 68-year-old icon possesses a special affinity for kids, and they for her. And she has a pretty good idea why. “I think kids relate to me because they think of me like a Mother Goose or a Fairy Godmother,” she stated. “I’m like a cartoon character; my voice is little and I’m an excitable little person like them! I’m very childlike in that way, in my nature.”

Dolly has just released her 42nd studio album, Blue Smoke, available now on Amazon, Google Play, and iTunes. Also, check out Karaoke Cloud and our free Sing-N-Share app, where you can sing several of Mrs. Parton’s most famous tunes.

Beatles Mania Revisited: Paul and Ringo together again!

article-2555598-1B589AD100000578-108_634x451

Beatles fans, rejoice! 50 years to the day that the mop-headed icons were first introduced to American TV audiences, Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney reunite to celebrate that vaunted night.

Last night (Sunday, Feb. 9th), the two remaining Beatles teamed up with other industry icons and current superstars and treated fans to a 2 1/2 hour spectacular commemorating their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964. Performances from the likes of Katy Perry, Keith Urban, and Stevie Wonder paid tribute to the “Fab Four” as Hollywood stars and Joe Schmoes alike looked on from the audience.

A-listers such as Kate Beckinsale, Tom Hanks, and Johnny Depp were in attendance as Maroon 5 performed their version of “Ticket To Ride.” Other performances included Ed Sheeran playing guitar and singing “In My Life,” Stevie Wonder on both the piano and harmonica as he performed “a little more funky” version of “We Can Work It Out,” and Katy Perry belting out her rendition of “Yesterday.” In one of my favorite moments, Alicia Keys and John Legend gave a masterful performance of “Let It Be,” earning a standing ovation from all in attendance.

While there were many other outstanding performances and tributes from stars such as John Mayer, Pharrell Williams, and Imagine Dragons, the conclusion of the festivities was, by far, the most anticipated and exciting part of the night as the former Beatles themselves took center stage! Ringo went first, the 73-year-old enthralling the audience as he performed the song “Boys” with the legendary Peter Frampton on guitar and finished up in his rightful place, on the throne behind the drums. The crowd then happily joined in, clapping and singing along as he performed “Yellow Submarine.”

Not to be outdone, the 71-year-old McCartney took the stage and performed 2 songs of his own, “Birthday” and “Get Back.” Next, with the backing of an orchestra, Sir Paul began singing the beloved “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” then came the reunion as Ringo joined Paul on stage (introduced, of course, as Billy Shears!) to finish out the song. The duo then teamed up to perform “With A Little Help From My Friends” and “Hey, Jude.”

What a night it was for Beatles fans and music lovers of all kinds. You can pay your own tribute to the band that changed American pop-culture forever with our free Sing-N-Share app! Check it out on both the Apple App Store and Google Play today!

Rave Reviews Continue For Sing-N-Share!

They say there’s no such thing as bad publicity. I’m not 100% sure I agree with that, but I do know that good publicity is always good! And that’s what Sing-N-Share continues to rake in as more and more bloggers and tech-reviewers weigh in on our new mobile karaoke app.

This latest positive review comes from Faryaal Khan of ilovefreesoftware.com. Mr. Khan gives a glowing review of the app in which he presses home how easy and convenient it is to use in addition to its entertainment value. “The main page of the app has many categories of songs, like: Pop, Country, R&B, Rock. Each category has hundreds of hit songs that you can sing along with this app. You can easily search your favorite song using the alphabetical filter.”

Faryaal goes on to itemize each of the outstanding features of Sing-N-Share, such as “attractive user interface with soft colors, easy to access features, login using Facebook or Twitter accounts,” and, “more than 12,000 songs available.”

While Mr. Khan was thorough in his review, the only thing I can see that was omitted is the fact that Sing-N-Share is available in both Google Play (Android) and the Apple App Store (iOS). “Khhhhaaaaann!!” *in my best William Shatner voice*

Sorry… I couldn’t resist!

We are more than willing to forgive such an oversight, however, when a reviewer ends a piece like so: “Sing-N-Share is a fun app for Android. I feel so lucky to have found this app. All my friends are gonna have a blast in our next party, singing songs with this karaoke app. I absolutely love this app. Try it yourself, it will surely cheer up your mood.”

But don’t just take his word for it! Download Sing-N-Share now at singnshare.com and see for yourself how easy it is to share the fun.

Sing-N-Share Hits The App Store!

Sing-N-Share app icon

Sing-N-Share hit the Google Play store the week before Christmas and that was enough to keep us jacked up into the new year. “Jacked up,” but not satisfied. As excited as we were for Android users to finally get their hands on Sing-N-Share, we immediately turned our attention toward getting the app approved and pushed through on the Apple App Store. That time and energy has payed off as Sing-N-Share is now available for Apple users on iPhone, iPod, and iPad!

For those not 100% sure what Sing-N-Share is all about, it’s a completely free, add-supported (thanks to LiveRail) mobile karaoke app developed by DigiTrax Entertainment and Deansoft which gives you total access to thousands of songs from the Karaoke Cloud catalog with more being added all the time! Sing-N-Share is much more than that, however, as it also allows users to not only sing along with their favorite tracks, but to record their performance and share it with friends and family anywhere in the world by posting it to Facebook or Twitter!

But don’t take my word for it. Check it out for yourself on either Google Play or the Apple App Store right now and share the fun!

The Rundown! Karaoke Could’s Year in Review

1434791_67334720

With less than 48 hours before we begin yet another amazing year, we’re feeling a little melancholy. Okay, maybe not, but we still want to talk about the good stuff that happened this year in the world of karaoke. So sit back, relax, and let’s take a short trip down memory lane as we look at some of Karaoke Cloud‘s best of 2013… as I see it, at least.

Karaoke Rescue Comes From Boyz II Men: I love to watch people’s reactions when celebrities make surprise appearances. This may have been a car commercial, but when Boyz II Men shows up to help a guy sing to his girlfriend in a karaoke club… well, that’s just awesome!

Ten people you meet at karaokeI only began working with DigiTrax/Karaoke Cloud in October of this year, but going back and reading previous blogs I have to say that this is definitely one of my favorites from 2013. Why? Because it’s so true! Everyone from the “Diva” to the “Newbie,” they exist! And if you’ve spent more than an hour in a karaoke club there’s a very good chance you’ve had the, um… pleasure of meeting them.

“They’re Heeeeere…” Sing-N-Share hits Google Play with thousands of free tracks from Karaoke Cloud: This was a very recent post, but from a business aspect it was also one of our biggest. The Sing-N-Share app is one of DigiTrax Entertainment’s crown jewels and we are extremely proud of everyone who came together to make it a reality! Very special shout outs to the geniuses at Deansoft for developing the tech and our friends at LiveRail for making the app free to everyone through their premium mobile video ads. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication and to you, our loyal friends and readers, for making Sing-N-Share a success!

Forget About Dre? No way, says karaoke ace!I’m not trying to toot my own horn, but this was the very first blog I wrote for Karaoke Cloud. This kid (Vincent Marcus) grabbed my attention with his amazing ability to flow and imitate two of my favorite rap artists of all time, Dr. Dre and Eminem. So, in all honesty it’s Vincent’s horn that’s being tooted here, not mine. 🙂

Squared-away Karaoke CEO Started Out PunkFor those of you who haven’t had the chance to read it yet, this article deals with our very own CEO and visionary, Joseph Vangieri! Karaoke Cloud/DigiTrax Entertainment owes all of its success to Joe for his pioneering spirit and business savvy, but he also happens to be a pretty interesting guy. From punk rocker to CEO? That’s pretty damn cool.

Music Genius Mark Radice Joins DigiTrax EntertainmentWe were absolutely ecstatic when Mark Radice agreed to join our team at DigiTrax! With his experience and undeniable musical talent, who wouldn’t be! Not only has Mark been responsible for many of the songs heard on the beloved children’s show Sesame Street (not to mention credits with some “small-time” bands/artists like Aerosmith and Gene Simmons), but the fact that he’s been blessed with what is known as “absolute pitch” makes him the perfect person to take the helm in creating pitch-perfect re-creations of hit songs!

KaraokeOnVEVO Surpasses Quarter-Million Mark in 6 MonthsNot too shabby for a “test product.” When we first started KoV (KaraokeOnVEVO) in order to see if there was a demand for free karaoke on social media we had no idea what kind of response we would get. It’s been overwhelming to say the least! When you consider that the amount of views has jumped another 7 million and subscribers by 25 thousand since we posted the blog last month…wow.

“Play a Tab” And Peavey: Avengers Assembled!Another huge coup for us in 2013 was the announcement of a joint-venture between guitar industry giants Peavey and DigiTrax Entertainment regarding our new innovative Play a Tab app! Working hand-in-hand with Peavey is an absolute honor, but to have our guitar-learning software actually packaged with their world-class products makes us almost speechless. Almost.

My friends, I hope you all had a great 2013 and we wish you the very happiest of new years! We’re looking forward to making even bigger strides in the digital interactive music industry in 2014 and can’t wait to see what our next “year in review” will hold!

“They’re Heeeeere…” Sing-N-Share hits Google Play with thousands of free tracks from Karaoke Cloud!

The wait is over! Sing-N-Share is now available on Google Play for all Android devices and it’s rolling out to rave reviews and 5-star ratings.

DigiTrax is excited to announce that it’s new mobile-karaoke app is now available to Android users and is awaiting final approval for release in the Apple App Store. With Sing-N-Share you’ll have access to thousands upon thousands of hit songs that you can sing, record, and share through social media anywhere at anytime.

“I have a lot of fun with this app!” stated one user in his review, “Especially since I am way too shy to sing in front of a bunch of people.” Another user said “This thing is awesome!!!!! My friends and I have started singing competitions!” Great idea! Bring your friends and family closer together through a little friendly competition. 🙂

My friends, I’ve used the app myself. I’m not big on singing in front of people, but I’m really having fun with this thing! I like all sorts music but I’m particularly fond of 90’s alternative and pop rock. Those were my high school and college years after all! Yesterday, I sang and recorded my own rendition of “Found Out About You” (originally performed by the Gin Blossoms). The track was beautifully produced and sounded so close to the original it was amazing. I recorded it and then posted it on Facebook, taking no small amount of courage on my part, with no problems whatsoever.

Try it! I promise you’ll like. It’s free, easy to use, and a lot of fun. Get it here in the Google Play store. If you’re an iPhone/iPad person, fear not. You’ll have your chance to join in the fun very, very soon!

For weeks now DigiTrax Entertainment LLC (DTE) has been teasing the release of its newest and most innovative mobile appSing-N-Share. In collaboration with one of the world’s premier software firms, Deansoft, DTE is closing in quickly on a release date and is anxious to share this new interactive masterpiece with the public.

“Sing-N-Share is a perfect tool for bringing friends and family together,” stated Cathy Vangieri, Project Manager for DigiTrax Entertainment. “Not only is it a great way to spend time with those closest to you,” she continued, “but it also allows the user to share the fun with loved ones, near and far, through social media. Music is such an integral part of the Christmas season, perhaps more so than any other holiday. That’s why we’re pushing so hard for a pre-Christmas release.”

With Christmas only weeks away final touches on the app are being put into place even as this article is being written. David Grimes, Marketing and Public Relations Manager for DTE, stated today that “The beta app is absolutely amazing and performs beautifully. We’re very excited for consumers to have the chance to finally get their hands on the app and start enjoying the Facebook and Twitter integration.”

Sing-N-Share, as stated earlier, is projected for a pre-Christmas release and will be available on both iOS and Android powered devices. This means that music and karaoke enthusiasts world-wide won’t have to wait much longer before they can share in the fun for themselves.
